Featured Artist of the Month  - September

Brenda Hayes is a Marshall County native. After retiring from the Maury County Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2014, she moved back to Lewisburg. Brenda is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in art education and a master’s degree in education. In 1977, Brenda was one of several to organize of the Marshall County Art Guild. During the 1980’s, she was the Marshall County Schools’ Elementary art teacher for seven years before leaving teaching for a career in marketing in the business world. Over the years, Brenda has worked on honing her artistic skills. Since retirement, she has devoted more time to producing works of art. Brenda is featured as the Marshall County Art Guild’s Artist of the Month for September at the Gallery on the square beside the Courthouse Annex. The exhibit features work from the past which includes the commemorative poster honoring the 1984 Marshall County High School’s State Champion football team as well as many recent works.
